The Department of State Revenue in the Karaganda region filed a claim with the Specialised Inter-District Economic Court to protect its honour, dignity and business reputation. The Department considers that the defendants - the Construction Committee of the Research and Production Enterprise "Atameken" of the Karaganda region and "The Association of developers of the Karaganda region" disseminated information in the media about the existence of a corruption scheme which was inaccurate and defamatory to the plaintiff's business reputation. The journalist and the newspaper are also involved in the trial as defendants.
