The Almaty Department of Internal Affairs reports that searches of the editorial offices of two publications - the website Ratel.kz and Forbes Kazakhstan magazine - are connected with "Citizen K"'s statement to police. According to the police, the complainant stated that the two media outlets were spreading "knowingly false information". The Department of Internal Affairs has confirmed the commencement of the investigation into section 3 of article 274 (the dissemination of false information) and the conduct of investigative activities.
