A lawsuit was brought against the independent website "criminal.az" over an article which featured a link to other media. A school teacher from the village of Tezekend in the Beylagan region, Gulnar Yusifova said that the article published on the site was humiliating and demanded that the site be fined. Local legislation relieves media outlets from responsibility for news published through a link. However local courts decided to fine the independent news site for 40,000 manat.
