On 12th May the ministry of communications filed a lawsuit in court, demanding that five critical internet resources in Azerbaijan be blocked. The ministry claimed that the website "Radio Azadliq", newspaper "Azadliq", programmes "Azərbaycan saatı", "Meydan TV" and the internet TV channel "Turan" all featured illegal content. This referred to articles with sharp criticism of the government by opposition political figures. Local courts granted the Ministry's claim, and access to the sites was blocked. The higher courts rejected the complaints against this decision. The complaint is currently being considered in the European Court of Justice.
