Sokrat Hovsepyan, the village mayor for the Aigestan community in the Ararat province, filed a lawsuit to Yerevan Ajapnyak and Davitashen administrative district courts of general jurisdiction against the television company "Armenia", depanding a public apology for making unfounded statements of television and defaming his honour, dignity and business reputation, as well as AMD 3 million in compensation. The program had accused the mayor of abusing his position is selling the village's gas pipelines. The court later decided to demand a public apology for the incident, as well as AMD 150 thousand in compensation for slander and AMD 11 thousand as a government levy. The mayor did not take the matter further so the case was closed.
