On September 26, the Shaykhantakhur District Criminal Court of Tashkent passed a verdict in the case of Telegram channel Kompromatuzb. The defendants in the case were the journalist and director of the media outlet Human.uz Khurshid Daliyev, the former press secretary of the Ministry of Employment Mavzhuda Mirzayeva, the former press secretary of Uzbekneftegaz Siyavush Khoshimov, and Akhmadullo Akhmadzhonov. Siyavush Khoshimov was acquitted on separate episodes under Part 2 of Article 139 and Paragraph A of Part 3 of Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the same time, he was found guilty of committing offences under Part 2 of Article 139, Paragraph A of Part 3 of Article 165, and Article 243. He was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment in a general regime colony with deprivation of the right to work in the media and to engage in journalism and blogging for 3 years.
