Hardzievich was detained by riot policemen when he was driving his minibus from Drahichyn to Brest. The journalist was taken into custody for 72 hours. Later, his apartment was searched in the presence of his wife. His computer, SIM cards, phones, journalist's minibus, and wife's car were confiscated. An employee of the Investigative Committee said that the detention was connected to the criminal case under Article 368 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, «Insult of the President of the Republic of Belarus». The reason was the reposting of a message in the Drahichyn-based Viber group, to which Hardzievich is affiliated.
