The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus has added Siarhei Chabotka, editor of the Hrodna city portal s13.ru, to its list of persons “involved in extremist activity”. He was previously sentenced to three and a half years’ imprisonment under articles related to the creation of an extremist formation and insulting the president. While Chabotka was in custody, his website s13.ru was designated as “extremist materials” and an “extremist formation”. The Grodno city portal s13.ru published local news and operated primarily as a news aggregator.
