Siarhei Bespalau said on 26 June that unknown people, one in a mask, the other in glasses, came to him. The house's landlady in Zatseni, where he rents an apartment, was told that a criminal case was brought against the tenant. Because his car was parked in a different place, he managed to avoid meeting with strangers. They promised the landlady to come back in the evening to find the journalist at home. Bespalau left the rented apartment and, within a day, found people who helped him to cross the border to Russia. He went to Moscow and flew to Europe from there. The activist did not specify the country, only noting that it was not Ukraine.
