K. Isenova, the founder of the public foundation for disabled children, filed a lawsuit in Ust-Kamenogorsk to protect her honor, dignity, and business reputation. One of the defendants in the process was Shygys Akparat Media Holding, which includes several regional and district media outlets. The reason for the proceedings was a press release distributed with reference to the East Kazakhstan Oblast Health Department under the headline «In East Kazakhstan, the director of a children’s institution allegedly collected money for children for her personal account». The court ordered the defendants to withdraw the press release with mandatory notification of the addressees that the information contained in the document did not correspond to reality, to publish a refutation in the same media, and to compensate the plaintiff court expenses.
