Journalist Shahin Rzayev was detained in the Surakhany village. He told his friends that he had been arrested for his Facebook status, but he did not have time to specify which status he was referring to. It turned out that all publications for the last two days had been deleted from his Facebook page. A few hours after communication with Rzayev was cut off, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan confirmed his arrest in response to journalists’ enquiry. A couple of hours after his arrest, he was taken to court. By the decision of the Surakhany District Court, Rzayev was arrested for 15 days. He was charged under Articles 510 (causing minor harm) and 535.1 (failure to comply with a lawful request of the police) of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
