On May 17, 2024, in Simferopol, police officers came with a search to the 68-year-old editor-in-chief of the newspaper Qırım Bekir Mamutov and its founder, 59-year-old Seyran Ibragimov. The searches also took place in the newspaper’s editorial office, but the journalists returned home in the evening. A report was drawn up against Mamutov for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and disseminating fakes under the guise of truthful information (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 and Part 9 of Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation).
