In the Ryazan region, judicial district court №27 of the Kasimovsky District Court dismissed the criminal case against the journalist Sergey Yerzhenkov and blogger Sergey Skoreyev, who were accused of vandalism (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). They were fined RUB 15,000 each. According to the article on the exemption from criminal responsibility (Article 76.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), a person who has committed a minor or medium gravity crime for the first time can be exempted from criminal responsibility with the imposition of a fine. This is possible if this person has repaid the damage or otherwise made amends for the damage caused.
