The city court of Shuya, Ivanovo Region, sentenced local blogger Sergey Veselov to 300 hours of community service in a case of insulting a judge (Part 2 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Veselov was sentenced for the video «What’s going on with the judicial system of the Russian Federation?», in which he commented on the actions of Nikolay Vergazov, judge of the Frunzensky District Court of the Ivanovo Region, who imposed a restraining measure on the blogger in the form of a ban on certain actions in the case of «discrediting» the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In the video, Veselov called Vergazov a «patented cretin».
