Blogger Sergey Veselov, who is serving an eight-year prison sentence on charges of discrediting the army, inciting terrorism, and collaborating with foreign states, is being repeatedly placed in solitary confinement under false pretences. While in solitary, he is barred from receiving parcels from his family. Veselov was first held in solitary from March 10 to May 10. Just three days later, on May 13, he was returned to solitary confinement for another 15 days. On May 30, he received an additional term in isolation. He was finally released from solitary on June 30 and returned to the general prison population.
