The blogger from Shuya, Ivanovo region, Sergey Veselov was charged with vandalism (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) for the inscription «No to war» on the building of the city administration. Initially, Veselov was charged with Part 1 of the article, which does not provide for imprisonment, but in the end, he was charged with Part 2, under which he faces up to 3 years in prison. Veselov was finally charged with vandalism and «discrediting» the army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, four episodes). On March 7, the Shuya City Court limited Veselov’s term of familiarisation with another case against him — insulting a judge (Part 2 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), obliging him to get acquainted with the materials in one day.
