Brest-based blog Narodniy Reporter (National Reporter) has been designated as an 'extremist organization' by the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Among the banned resources were the blog's Youtube Channel, RuTube, Telegram, as well as multiple other accounts and even the project's logo. The State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus (KGB) designated bloggers and ex-political prisoners Sergei Petrukhin and Aleksandr Kabanov as being party to extremist activity. According to law enforcement, any interaction with resources which have been designated as such implies criminal prosecution, and possible imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years for participating in or aiding an extremist organization (article 361-1 and article 361-4 of the Belarusian Criminal Code).
