The Krasnoflotsky District Court of Khabarovsk has fined Forbes journalist Sergey Mingazov 700,000 rubles (approximately €7,583) for spreading so-called “fake news” about the Russian military (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Russian Criminal Code). The case was based on three reposts he made on his Telegram channel about the events in Bucha, Ukraine. Prosecutors had sought a six-year prison sentence, but the court considered Mingazov’s partial admission of guilt and his health condition when issuing the fine instead.
