The Khabarovsk Regional Court has increased the fine against Forbes news editor Sergei Mingazov in a case concerning the dissemination of “fake news” about the military (Part 1, Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). On appeal, his fine was raised from 700,000 rubles to 2.5 million rubles. The court also ordered the confiscation of the journalist's laptop and phone, seized during a search, and banned him from running websites online for three years. Prior to joining Forbes, Mingazov worked with Vedomosti and Kommersant and served as a correspondent for TASS. The case against him, initiated in April 2024, relates to three reposts on his Telegram channel reporting on crimes allegedly committed by the Russian army in Bucha.
