Two protocols on fakes under Part 9 of Article 13.15 of the Administrative Code of Offences were drawn up against the journalist for the May articles about the first death from the COVID-19 in Altai and about the lack of places in the local hospital. Sergey Mikhailov was also checked under Article 207.1 of the Criminal Code, but a criminal case was not initiated. The Magistrates' Court eventually dropped both administrative cases.
