The court of Gorno-Altaysk sent Mikhailov to the pre-trial detention center. The journalist was charged with Paragraph E of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — dissemination of «deliberately false information» about the army, motivated by political hatred. According to the investigation, in March and April, Mikhailov published on the Internet and in a newspaper «a number of materials» about «the order of a special military operation» in Ukraine. The journalist was detained on April 13 in Lyubertsy near Moscow, and searches were conducted at the newspaper’s editorial office and the apartments of its employees. On April 4 and 7, Mikhaylov published excerpts from Wikipedia about the murder of residents of Bucha in the Kyiv region by the Russian army on the Listok’s website. Mikhailov faces between 5 and 10 years in prison.
