After the publication about torture in Lipetsk region penal colony №5, prisoner Sergey Gorelov, head of the canteen in this colony, demanded to open a criminal case on libel and deliberate false accusation (Article 128 and 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) against the author of the article, his source Mikhail Managarov and two more inmates who were mentioned as victims of beatings.
