Independent journalist Semetei Talas uulu was detained in his home in Bishkek. According to the journalist’s wife, unknown men in civilian clothes came to their apartment. They searched the apartment and confiscated some books with religious content. Later, the media, referring to the press center of the State Committee for National Security, reported that the journalist was detained and interrogated within the initiated criminal case under the article «Dissemination of extremist materials» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. After the interrogation, the journalist told his colleagues that it was about the reposting of a material in Facebook. Semetei Talas uulu writes materials about organized crime and corruption.
