On August 11, the Taldykorgan police detained the journalist of Orda Sandugash Duysenova. She is accused of disseminating information about a person’s private life, which constitutes his/her personal or family secret, without his/her consent or causing substantial damage to the rights and legitimate interests of a person as a result of illegal dissemination of other personal data. A. Akzhalbekov, who is serving a sentence for murder, filed a complaint against the journalist, who claims that in the publication of May 22, 2022, Duysenova disseminated his personal data, namely his individual identification number. «She confessed and, following procedural measures, was released on her own recognisance and proper conduct», — the Zhetysu Region Police Department said on August 12. The procedural measures also included a body search of the journalist — in the presence of witnesses, Sandugash was forced to undress almost completely. The police reported that it was authorised by the court.
