The Lankaran District Court fined Samir Sadagatoglu (Huseynov), a political emigrant currently in Switzerland, editor-in-chief of Civilazerbaijan.com, a well-known Azerbaijani writer and journalist, AZN 1,000. The head of Premium Hotel LLC, Rasim Mamedov, filed a civil suit against the journalist. In his opinion, the article written by the journalist humiliated his honor and dignity. The court found the journalist guilty under Article 22 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan (protection of honor, dignity, and business reputation).
