Prosecutors called on journalist Samara Parpieva following a request from the manager of a local nursery school, the status of which the journalist criticised in a television report. According to Parpieva, the manager of the nursery school “Mol-Bulak” went to court with a statement of claim about the correspondent, and she was then called on by prosecutors, who then presented the claim. The claim stated, that Parpieva allegedly demanded a bribe of $500 from the manager in return for not airing the programme. TV channel TMG turned to police with a statement about threats and false accusations targeting the journalist. Law enforcement agencies in Kyrgyzstan’s Osh Region have started an investigation.
