On January 23, the decision of the civil court of November 9, 2022, on the claim of citizen N. against Saltanat Tashimova, an activist of the public association Protect Almaty, came into force. The claim for the protection of the right to own image was stated in connection with two posts on social networks on May 28 and 29, 2022 — a live broadcast of the meeting of residents of the neighbourhood in Almaty and about the incident that occurred at the meeting. The plaintiff stated that she did not authorise the publication of her image. According to the court decision, Saltanat Tashimova must delete from social networks accounts video materials and posts from May 28 and 29, 2022 with the image of the plaintiff, reimburse her for moral damage in the amount of KZT 100,000 and expenses for the assistance of a representative in the amount of KZT 400,000.
