The Achkhoy-Martan Court of Chechnya found 20-year-old Salekh Magamadov and 18-year-old Ismail Isayev guilty of complicity with guerrillas and sentenced them to eight and six years in prison respectively. According to the verdict, Magamadov will spend seven years in a strict regime colony and one year in prison, while Isayev will spend six years in a general regime colony. Lawyer Mark Alekseyev notes that the sentence is linked to the brothers’ sexual orientation, as well as their participation in the moderation of Osal Nakh 95, a Telegram channel opposed to the Chechen authorities.
