Journalist Sakhavat Mammad, known for his articles on military issues, was summoned to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He was asked for explanations regarding articles on military issues and demanded that he put an end to these publications. The journalist refused to comply with this demand. He was then taken to court, where he was accused of committing an administrative offence under Article 388-1.1.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Azerbaijan (the posting by an owner or user of an Internet information resource of the information which is banned by the Law on Information, Informatisation and Information Protection). The journalist was fined AZN 500 (USD 300).
