On August 23, the officers of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan and officers of the Gishtkuprik border-crossing point did not allow Ruzibai Azimi, a 50-year-old resident of Uzbekistan and a longtime independent journalist (he has worked with several independent and Western media, including the Voice of America), to enter Uzbekistan without any given reason. Azimi was not allowed into Uzbekistan after two years of forced emigration.
