On March 5, 2024, the Kievsky District Court of Simferopol in closed mode considered the issue of selecting a measure of restraint against the civil journalist of Crimean Solidarity Rustem Osmanov, who was detained on that day by the Federal Security Service officers in his house in Bakhchisaray, where a search was also conducted. The court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months. Osmanov was charged under Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organisation of activities of a terrorist organisation and participation in the activities of such an organisation) for participation in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
