In Vlasikha, Moscow region, the military court of appeal commuted the sentence of Ruslan Ushakov, the author of the Telegram channel True Crime, by 3 months. Now instead of 8 years in the colony, he will spend 7 years and 9 months in it. In June 2023, Ushakov was sentenced to 8 years in a general regime colony. He was found guilty of «fakes about the army», rehabilitation of Nazism, justification of terrorism and incitement to hatred and hostility. At one of the sessions, he told about torture: after his detention, in a special police vehicle, unknown persons in civilian clothes passed electric current through his fingers in an attempt to force him to confess to crimes.
