The Cheryomushki District Court of Moscow received an administrative case against Ruslan Leviev under the article on failure to report on the activities of «foreign agents» (Part 2 of Article 19.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation). The journalist was included in the register of «foreign agents» in November 2022. At the end of August 2023, the Basmanny District Court of Moscow sentenced Leviev in absentia to 11 years in prison in the case of «military fakes» (Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
