Kulevich was detained by riot policemen in the center of Grodno in a store. The journalist was wearing a vest with the inscription «Press». He was forced into a paddy wagon, severely beaten, as a result both of his arms were broken. Kulevich was taken to the detention center, where an administrative report was drawn up on him for his alleged participation in an unauthorized event. He was held in the detention center until the trial. On August 12, the court found Kulevich guilty and arrested him for seven days. He was released on the evening of August 13. After his release, the journalist started to receive anonymous threats. Moreover, unknown people published personal data of Kulevich's family and insulting information about them on the Internet.
