Ruslan Bakhtigareev received threats from the police. A policeman from the Almaty district police department came to the journalist, at the request of the investigator of the Aktobe region, asking why Bakhtigareev assigned to one of the journalists to check some information about the prosecutor from the Aktobe region. “When I explained that I had nothing to say because I don’t remember, and, therefore, I refuse to testify, there was a threat that they would take me to the police station within two hours, and I will testify anyway,” says Bakhtigareev. Also, according to the journalist, he was "strongly advised not to enter the office of the head of the Almaty Investigation Department," as he would regret it.
