Law enforcers detained Ruslan Akhmetshin, a former photographer of the Navalny Headquarters in Arkhangelsk, at the Domodedovo airport when he was trying to fly to Yerevan for medical treatment. At the beginning of March, the law enforcement officers opened a criminal case against Akhmetshin on rehabilitation of Nazism (Paragraph C of Part 2 and Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court imposed a preventive measure in the form of prohibition of certain actions. The case was initiated because of the activist’s comments on the social network VKontakte. In addition, SOTA reported that the photographer was a witness in the case of Alexey Navalny’s «extremist community». On March 23, his apartment was searched. Akhmetshin was detained for 48 hours and taken to Arkhangelsk.
