In early March, law enforcement officers opened a criminal case against Akhmetshin on the rehabilitation of Nazism (Paragraph C of Part 2 and Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The police claim that in 2021, before Victory Day, Akhmetshin posted comments and entries on social networks «containing signs of obvious disrespect to society in connection with the memorable date of Russia related to the defense of the Fatherland» and «deliberately false information about the unleashing of the Second World War by the Soviet Union».
