Ivanov’s flat was searched in the case of disclosure of preliminary investigation data (Part 1 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The case was initiated in connection with an interview Ivanov had conducted with a road accident victim. All equipment was seized from the journalist. He was interrogated by the police and released as a witness. The journalist’s wife Maria Nekrasova was held at the police station and threatened with a report under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (disobedience to the police). During the search, she was pushed by a policeman and hit the back of her head; an ambulance was called to the police station.
