In the morning, police officers came to the flats of the editor-in-chief of Proekt Roman Badanin and the journalist of the media outlet Maria Zholobova. As a result of the search, two laptops were seized from Badanin’s flat and two laptops, mobile phones, flash drives, and SIM cards — from Zholobova’s flat. The searches took place in the case of libel (Part 5 of Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The case was initiated back in 2017 because of the film by Badanin and Zholobova on TV Rain about the entrepreneur Ilya Traber, who was called «the so-called king of gangster St. Petersburg».
