The administration of social network VKontakte, at the request of Roskomnadzor, blocked the public page "REGION35.INFO. News of the Vologda Region" along with about 10 other Vologda-based groups on the social network. Most of these groups had criticised Vologda Region Governor Georgy Filimonov and local officials. In April, VK groups of the Russky Sever TV channel and the newspapers Rech and Golos Cherepovtsa were also blocked. All of these outlets are part of the Vologda-based Media Center holding.
