After seven days of hunger strike, blogger Rashad Ramazanov suspended the hunger strike on October 28, his wife Kenul Ismayilova told Turan news agency. According to her, Rashad went on a hunger strike in protest against his arrest on fabricated charges and biased judicial investigation. The blogger’s lawyer, Elchin Sadygov, wrote about the blogger’s severe health on his Facebook page. Due to the poor health, on October 27, the next court hearing in his case was postponed,” the lawyer said. Ramazanov was detained on May 20 2022. On the following day was arrested for four months on the charges of Article 234.4.3 (large-scale drug trafficking) of the Criminal Code. He faces 5 to 12 years in prison.
