Blogger Rashad Ramazanov, held in the Baku pre-trial detention centre, is subjected to psychological pressure, his wife Kenul Ismaylova told Turan Agency. According to her, the pressure is initiated by the staff, which pits other prisoners against Rashad. «There is a system of extortion in the pre-trial detention centre, where prisoners are extorted money for everything. Rashad refuses to pay, so they turn his cellmates against him, creating problems for them. Two of his cellmates cooperate with the administration, and they constantly bully Rashad and provoke him with insults. A month ago, I complained to the hotline of the penitentiary service, after which the pressure on Rashad only increased», — Ismaylova said. According to her, Rashad and his cellmates were briefly placed in a punishment cell on February 9. The prisoners were said that they were punished because of Rashad. After that, a conflict arose between Rashad and the cellmates.
