A group of law enforcement officers came to the office of the online publication Toplum TV at around 4 pm on Wednesday and searched the premises. This became known from messages on social networks. The head of the project, investigative journalist Khadija Ismail, confirmed to Turan that search took place. A criminal case has been initiated against Toplum TV. Employees Farid Ismayilov, Mushfiq Jabbar, Ali Zeynal, Ramil Babayev, Elmir Abbasov and Ilkin Ahmadov were arrested on "smuggling" charges. On July 3, the Khatai District Court extended the pre–trial detention another 3 months - until October 6, 2024.
