The administrative court in Almaty considered a case on the accusation of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Kazakhstan office of placing and disseminating false information. The applicant — resident of Shymkent city A. Turabayev — considered that in the article «Lawyer: prisoner Timur Danebayev is „temporarily“ transferred from Atbasar detention center to Kokshetau» (rus.azattyq.org, 19.09.2023) false information is contained in the phrase «Russia heads CSTO». The court ruled that the representative office of RFE/RL in Kazakhstan was guilty of posting and disseminating false information and imposed an administrative fine. The representative of RFE/RL Kazakhstan in court was Kasym Amanzhol, bureau chief of Radio Azattyq.
