Ilya Barokhovsky, a human rights activist and journalist working with several media outlets, and the Radio Azattyq reporter for the East Kazakhstan region were filming a story about the demonstration of the Semey Bus vehicle fleet employees who could not receive benefits due to violations of the law by their employer. During the filming of an interview with the employees of the vehicle fleet, a police officer who was observing the demonstration approached them and tried to expel the journalists from the territory of the enterprise. According to the law enforcement officer, media representatives must have route sheets from editorial offices in order to film reports in the city.
