As Radio Azattyq correspondents reported, they were not allowed to attend the announcement of the verdict in the case of 11 officers of the National Security Committee accused of torture during the January events. A representative of the Turksib District Court of Almaty explained this decision by the fact that the defendants had filed complaints. It was not specified what the essence of these complaints was. Radio Azattyq learnt about the outcome of the trial from Gulnara Zhuaspayeva, one of the lawyers of the injured party.
