Ara Mkrtchyan, the head of the Kasakh community of the Kotayk region, filed a lawsuit with the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against Elena Zohrabyan, Head of the Department of Public Relations of the Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia, and Public Television Company of Armenia CJSC, demanding public refutation of the information considered libel and compensation for the damage caused to the honour and dignity. The reason for the lawsuit was a report that said the plaintiff had carried out dubious transactions containing corruption risks, which the inspection body had found as a result of inspections. On December 20, the lawsuit was returned because of flaws found in the documents.
