On August 20, former State Minister of Nagorno-Karabakh Artak Beglaryan filed a lawsuit in the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction against political analyst Bardugh Galstyan and the Closed Joint-Stock Company “Public Television of Armenia.” The suit demands a retraction of information considered defamatory, its removal from social media, and monetary compensation. The reason for the lawsuit was Bardugh Galstyan’s statements on the program “Open Tribune”, broadcast by the mentioned TV company on July 19. According to the political analyst, during his years in high office, Artak Beglaryan participated in looting and enrichment at the expense of ordinary Karabakh residents and obstructed the advancement of the Karabakh issue in European platforms so that Nagorno-Karabakh would remain within Russia’s sphere of influence. According to the plaintiff, the host journalist, through his questions, also encouraged the dissemination of insult and defamation on the air of the public broadcaster.
