Vladimir Osechkin, the founder of Gulagu.net, has filed a lawsuit against the journalists of the media outlet Proekt for defamatory material about him and his organisation published in September 2023. The defamation suit was filed in a court in France, where Osechkin has been living since 2015 and has been granted political asylum. The lawyers of Gulagu.net claim that the journalists of Proekt allegedly published «unverified information, libel, and compilation/falsification for the purpose of defaming and discrediting» Osechkin.
