On November 26, the head of the Public Relations Service of the Patriarchate of the Georgian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Andria Dzhagmaidze, said that the opposition TV channels, Mtavari Arkhu, Pirveli, and Formula, were to blame for the robbery attack and the rape of the nun. Georgian Ombudsman Nino Lomdzharia said it is «extremely dangerous and wrong» to blame the media for the crime that happened in the Tskhramukhi monastery, as it might provoke violence against journalists.
